Plastics - Enviro Skimmer

The Vikoma Enviro Skimmer is a weir skimmer working alongside a filtration system designed to recover floating nurdles and plastics.

Plastic pellet pollution (sometimes referred to as nurdles) is a growing environmental crisis, as these small, pellet-sized pieces of raw plastic are often spilled during transportation.  Once in the waterways they cause harm to marine eco systems, particularly when ingested by marine animals. 

Our Enviro Skimmer is an easy way to remove floating plastic pellets.  The weir action of the skimmer collects plastics into an efficient filtration and collection system, draining water for return to the sea or river.

Shore Guardian, our shore sealing boom can be deployed to prevent plastics reaching the shore and can also be used to create a contained area to recover pellets from. If plastics reach the shore then they can be recovered using our mini vac system or flushed back into the sea within an area contained by shore sealing boom.  Vikoma’s Enviro Skimmer can then be used for recovery.
